Maureen Sandrock
Sandrock obtained her science education from the Universities of Saskatchewan
and Manitoba. After 25 years in acute care nursing, she graduated from
the Ottawa School of Art in 1997. Since graduation, she has exhibited
at Gallery 101, SAW Gallery, Carleton University, Ottawa School of Art,
Mexico City, the International Festival of Art and Culture in Santiago,
Chile, and Fort Walton, Florida. She has received Canada Council and Ontario
Arts Council Grants for the purpose of transferring scientific information
about DNA, genetic manipulation, and cloning, into visual data. Sandrocks
philosophy and desire is to elicit beneficial change for all, by combining
scientific information and spiritualism through art.



September 24, 2006 Stopping at 50 cities in 50 days, The Wave
Books Poetry Bus Tour, presented by the Ottawa International Writers
Festival.


Over one hundred poets, along with musicians, filmmakers and journalists,
participated as the bus traversed North America, bringing innovative poetry
to big cities and small towns across the U.S. and Canada.
Participating poets: Joshua Beckman, Kate Hall, Matthew Zapruder, Anthony
McCann, Richard Meier, Lisa Fishman, Mark Bibbins, Damian Rogers and Monica
Fambrough and the performance art troupe The Typing Explosion with Canadian
poets David OMeara and Kevin Connolly.
